Shadows over Tyner
Kolya met this Tiefling eight years ago the first time he ventured into Brightwater. He had never been to a city and was terrified at the number of different people there and there inability to be decent toward each other. He made his way into an alley to hide for a few minutes and the Tiefling was back there waiting. She slunk over to him and got very close, “You have lost someone dear to you.” After saying these words, she left and Kolya followed. She went to an inn on the outskirts of town, the same building that would later be The Singing Lark, and ordered Kolya a room. She spoke with him there, “I can help you with the search for your son. Not now, mind you, but in the future. It will only be small bits of information at first as I learn them, but I predict that a time will come when I will be able to help you greatly. At that time I will require something from you.” Pain then leaped out the window and vanished.
Shortly before meeting Kolya, Pain had found his son, Toryc in a slave camp. She freed him from the enslavement and took him to a safe hideaway she had in the Imperium. She raised him for the next few years, training him to look out for himself out in the world. When news reached her of Kolya’s demise, she said nothing to the young gnoll, it was his responsibility to find this out on his own. She sent him into the world when he was 16 and reminded him that there was always a home for him in her hideaway.
